The statue of Our Lady of the Highways stands as a reminder to all motorists to drive safely. This was erected as a memorial to those who died in a multiple-vehicle accident on I-95 near Elkton, MD. The statue was dedicated as a Shrine to Our Lady of the Highways to invoke Mary, Christ's mother, as the protector of travelers. In 2022, the Shrine was renovated with new plantings, enhanced lighting, restored signage, and better irrigation to bring beauty and prominence to the original shrine, first erected over 50 years ago.
