If you had told me a few years ago that I would be moving to Hawaii to be a missionary, I would have had a difficult time believing you. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10 NIV). I may not have known where I would be going, but God did! He called me to long-term medical missions and it has been a journey seeing this calling unfold. I began my time with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) in Kona, Hawaii staffing the Medical Discipleship Training School (DTS) in December 2019.

After COVID altered our plans to take our students on outreach to the nations in March 2020, I was left wondering how God desired me to use my medical skills in service to Him. He placed Kona itself on my heart and increasingly led me to desire focusing my ministry on the area I had moved to- both within YWAM itself as well as the surrounding Kona community.

The need to pioneer a new Campus Health ministry revealed itself over summer 2020 and my heart has become increasingly committed to its vision and purpose. I now see this supportive ministry as a way to support, encourage, and equip ALL of the students coming to the YWAM Kona campus, as well as the school leaders, staff, and volunteers of the university! There are so many different aspects to this ministry, including health education & training, administration, intercessory prayer, medical & public health expertise and recommendations, policy and procedure development, and logistics. In addition to Campus Health, I have also begun serving at a local pregnancy center performing limited obstetric ultrasounds.

The Lord is teaching me so many new skills while also highlighting strengths He has given me. I have blessedly been able to consider each day of work as worship and genuinely love the new spheres of influence the Lord has given me!

Serving with Campus Health at YWAM Kona and The Pregnancy Center allows me to utilize the gifts God has given me for the purpose He has given them to me- His glory! THANK YOU for coming alongside me to transform lives through equipping, training, supporting, and encouraging others in the Body of Christ committed to the Great Commission as well as showing women the miracle of life and supporting them in their pregnancy journeys. May we continue to serve one another and expand the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth together!
