Kiran & Dechan Pakhrin

Hello!

Our family of three is from Palung Valley in Makawanpur District of Nepal. We both grew up in the same area, and both our ancestors were witch doctors. After Dechen's Grandfather came to know the Lord, He was the one to bring the Gospel to Kiran's village. Since then our families have been transformed by the Love of Jesus. We have been married for over two years and had our beautiful daughter Gloria this past year. We each completed our DTS four years ago and have both been serving God full-time since then.

Having seen the transforming power of God in our own families, we long to see the peoples of the Himalayas come to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We feel great urgency to prepare the way for our Bridegroom King, by bringing in the harvest of souls from the unreached of Nepal. One day we know we will hear the wedding bells of heaven and see Jesus receive His Bride from the Himalayas! To that end, God has called us to preach the gospel to the Lost, and champion and disciple young people, calling them to a lifestyle of wholehearted love and obedience to the will of God in their lives. We truly believe Nepal will be like a "city set on a hill" that will shine bright in Asia with the light of the Gospel! We know as we lay our lives down for God's plan in our day, we will see a generation rise up captivated by the beauty of Jesus and empowered to fulfill the Great Commission from Nepal to the Nations.

Together we have spent more than 10 accumulative years in full time missions reaching the lost in the remotest areas of the Himalayas. Tens of thousands have heard the gospel and many have turned from worshiping idols to the Living God. We now feel God has added to this side of our ministry by calling us to catalyze and raise up the youth of Nepal through sports and fitness. We are part of Respect the Corners (RTC), a ministry of YWAM that uses fitness to reach the next generation of youth. Daily we're seeing lives transformed as we share the gospel, and mentor young men and women. Bible studies, women's Brave Love gatherings, house fellowships, and many other discipleship opportunities have arisen as we have used fitness classes as a bridge to reach people. There are so many people hungry to be saved, and countless hundreds of young believers looking to be taught how to walk in God's ways. We are giving our lives to meet this need! Having coached fitness classes for over 6 months, we both are looking to get Crossfit certifications in the near future to open even more doors to disciple youth across Nepal.

On top of this, Dechen also serves with a women's ministry called Brave Love, which seeks to see the women of Nepal saved, set free from shame and bondage, and raised up to be Deborahs in their families, cities, and nation. Already many are being saved, touched, and encouraged. From women in the sex industry to young women in churches who never felt qualified to live out their God-given dreams, we are seeing God's love and power change many dozens of women's lives as they learn their identity in Christ.

Through all these various ministries we help lead, our vision is to see our generation transformed by the Gospel in the same way our personal families were! Jesus is worthy of His reward in the Himalayas, and we are joyfully laying down our lives that He might receive it!
