Megan Riddle

Hello, I'm Megan, and I am a missionary serving with YWAM (Youth with a Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. On April 4th, 2021, I was encountered with the TRUE love of Jesus Christ at my home church, Life Mission in Olathe, Kansas. I was living in the most traumatic season of my life and God met me in my brokenness. A few days later, the Lord led me to the University of the Nations (YWAM's main campus) in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii to learn more about Him and grow deeper in His love. I took a six month course called Discipleship Training School (DTS). The first three months was a lecture phase where we learned how to hear God's voice, how to receive the love of Jesus, and so much more. The second three months, we went on an international outreach where we got to apply what we had learned and make God known. I went to the Horn of Africa and this time COMPLETELY transformed my life to love Jesus with my whole heart and to live a life of service, loving the lost and broken.

After returning from Africa, the Lord spoke to me about moving back to Kona to fully join YWAM and continue to serve in missions. I didn't fully understand His plan, but chose to walk in faith and obedience, moving back to Kona. The Lord provided for me in my move in every way, providing miraculous housing and provision. I am growing to understand that God is faithful, hears my prayers, and that his plan is always perfect.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
Jeremiah 29: 11-12

This January, I will be participating in YWAM's Leadership Track with Fire and Fragrance, to continue to grow and be equipped and prepared to step into a staff position in the next DTS, which will be focused on the "Hardest and Darkest" nations. While staffing the school, I will be discipling students who join the program, walking with them through the journey of growing in love for Jesus and then leading a team to the nations for the outreach phase of the school.

Being a missionary is a unique position to be in, especially when it comes to finances. It is rare to find missionaries that get paid for what they do via their organization. This dilemma invites those who are not able to physically bring the gospel to the nations to literally partner with someone who physically IS - performing the SAME function in bringing good news to the lost, setting captives free, healing the afflicted, and essentially bring change to a nation for generations to come!
