Shaina Thornton

Hi!

It's so nice to meet you! My name is Shaina Thornton and I am answering the call to "Go" into all the world and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As a child I knew that there was a calling of ministry and missions upon my life and for 21 years, I have been eagerly waiting for the Lord to say "It's your time." As 2022 came around the corner, the Lord gave me full permission and has commissioned me to step up and to step out into the field, not in the way I expected.

Mark 9:37-38 reads, "Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."

In February of 2021, I teamed up with an organization known as Healing Haiti and was able to travel to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to minister to the people of that beautiful country in which it started the beginning of the story the Lord is writing for me.

In 2022, the Lord taught me how to be obedient and follow His steps and His plans. By doing a hot cocoa outreach in January to gathering hygiene bundles to give in February, this led to God leading me to start filling a gap in my local community and feed those in need every Saturday through a nonprofit He led me to establish called Send Me Inc (follow us on insta!). After starting small with about 10 people coming out on Saturday's to get fed physically and spiritually, now we serve an average of 40 every weekend as well, and it has grown into a 10X16 shed we call "home." We serve food as well as hygiene items, blankets, and clothes every weekend and throughout the week when my team and I can.

God not only has been moving with Send Me Inc, but a worship movement God also allowed me to pioneer, Valley Ablaze, has been going strong. We meet monthly and have the five-fold ministry working together to minister to God's children. Other ministries I am involved in are The Fulcrum Center and have the honor of leading their Worship for their conferences. For the past 6 months, my heart has been growing for the youth and had no idea how I was to be able to minister to the young kids in the area I live. The opportunity came about to lead and run Wyldlife which is a branch of the nationally known Young Life organization. Our first gathering had 112 kids! The Spirit of God is moving and providing a way for His name to get back into the school systems. Here in the Ohio Valley, God is reversing the curse of darkness. I am honored to be a vessel for change and am excited to see how else God moves.

As you can see, it's not I but Christ who is working! I cannot continue to advance the Kingdom of God in the Ohio Valley without you. So, I am going to ask you one question, are you in? Are you willing to join me on this journey of missions? Are you willing to partner with me along the way? Are you willing to believe in and support this ministry the Lord is starting?

This is just the beginning.
