Since 2015 I have been on staff with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Brisbane, Australia. YWAM is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. When YWAM began in 1960, the main focus was to get youth involved in missions, and although the organization now involves people aged 9 to 90, we still feel called to specifically target discipleship and leadership development in young adults.

YWAM Brisbane has cultivated a strong reputation for its ability to produce strong Godly leaders and the Basic Leadership School plays a vital role in achieving those outcomes. I work with a team to implement training for budding leaders to learn how to partner with God in leadership as they each walk more fully in their God-given identity and influence groups of people both in Australia and around the world. My role includes mentoring, training, assessment, and exhortation both in and out of the classroom. God has called me to empower His children to recognize and actively pursue their specific gifts and callings. To bring hope to the downtrodden; those who were told they aren't good enough or can't amount to anything. To let God's love transform the way people think and to ignite boldness in individuals to become influential, Godly leaders.

Throughout the Bible God calls his children to take up positions as occupational missionaries; He not only calls his children to become full-time missionaries but He also calls His children to partner with those missionaries by supporting in prayer and finance. It's God's joy to use relationship to bring forth His Kingdom. That's why we tithe to the church and that's why we give to missions. As a missionary I don't receive any income from YWAM, as our organization has felt specifically directed from the Lord that each individual's 'wages' for our ministry would come through the financial support of individuals and churches. Partnership isn't just about funding something that God is doing through me. It's about forming a team of people that achieve something together that could not be done by just an individual.
