Josh & Concilia Warber
Right after we got married in Zambia, we were blessed to be able to go on a honeymoon to South Africa. During our honeymoon we spent a lot of time in the word of God and in prayer together. We also watched a film called "Nefarious". It is a powerful documentary on sex trafficking that we wish everybody in the world could see. Please take the time to watch it on YouTube.
Here is the link for the film "Nefarious"- https://youtu.be/MFaDHgXPbUg
Immediately after watching the film, we started talking about God's heart for the girls. We have both seen all the horrible ways that girls are trafficked from villages in the third world. We looked at each other then said "we have to do something!" Edmund Burke said "the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men and women to do nothing." After watching the film "Nefarious", we started praying more and asking the Lord for direction in what our part should be. Shortly after that, we were doing an online search and found an organization fighting sex trafficking all over Southeast Asia. We worked for an anti-trafficking organization for 2 years in the Philippines. We learned so much more about sex trafficking during our time with them. Then, the Lord directed us to fill out an application with Wipe Every Tear. After getting to know them more, they said "we would love for you guys to join us full-time." We prayed and heard the Lord say "yes", that we are to join Wipe Every Tear. The Lord is bringing complete rescue (restoration) to these precious girls who are imprisoned in "the hell of the sex trade". The safe homes provided for aftercare is a huge difference maker in transforming their lives completely. These girls lives are one of DAILY RAPE and abuse which will continue until they are either too sick to work, they die, OR ARE RESCUED.
It is estimated that there are 27 million men, women, and children enslaved around the world today with no hope of escape and no light to their darkness. The Bible says "Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free and remove the chains that bind people" (Isaiah 58:6). We have heard these precious enslaved girls cries for help and we know God is calling us to work to deliver them from the hand of the wicked. "Deliver the poor and needy; rescue them out of the hand of the wicked. (Psalm 82:4). William Wilberforce said "You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know."
Who we serve-
Wipe Every Tear brings rescue and restoration to women trafficked in the sex trade. We believe that loving the poor and broken in the wonderful name of Jesus is an honor. We just love, and love justly!
Wipe Every Tear's safe homes are for women, girls, and their children affected by sex trafficking. By being a Wipe Every Tear scholar, each woman completes a college education and receives economic empowerment, counseling, and discipleship. This holistic approach contributes to our Kingdom-centered vision to bring Hope, Freedom, and a real Future to the lives of these dear women.
