HeroGuards Fund

HeroGuards volunteers go into the field and collect supplemental Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), primarily gown substitutes, such as rainwear from the recreation industry, and personally distribute the equipment in bulk to hospitals and nursing homes when and where such critical items are not otherwise available or in short supply. HeroGuards are dedicated to lowering infection and death rates in local nursing homes and hospitals nationwide. In-person distributions have been made, and are continuing to be made, to numerous institutions including Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts, and the Jewish Healthcare Center, a nursing home in Worcester, Massachusetts. HeroGuards want to set a nationwide example by teaching people from Boston to L.A. how to do the same thing, especially when the expected "second wave" occurs.
